Our dog units are available for random patrols or for specific events.

When you need something that just says, “Don’t even think about it.” Then a dog unit will most certainly fit the bill.

We operate Patrol Dog Teams, Drug Detection Dogs, also Arms and Explosive Detection Dogs.

Safeguard Security operate Protection/Patrol dogs and Specialist Search/Detection dogs. Our Dog Section is managed by a highly trained and experienced Dog Section Manager who has gained his experience by working for the Ministry of Defence and a Civilian Police Service.

Protection/Patrol Dogs

There is something about being faced with a highly trained guard dog that deters even the most determined of criminals. Safeguard Security Dog Section can provide Protection dog teams for random patrols, one off specific events or long term contracts. All handlers and dogs are highly trained and most of Safeguards dog handlers are ex military or police personnel. If it’s high visibility guarding you want then a patrol dog team will do the job.

Drug Detection Dogs

Drug Detection Dog discipline is split into two main fields, Passive and Pro-Active.

The pro-active dog does not confront the public and is therefore permitted a natural indication.

The passive response drug detection dog is trained to detect drugs hidden on the person. Working in public areas, mainly air ports and sea ports the dogs monitor people passing by and indicate by either sitting or lying down in front of the suspect. Safeguard Security are being asked more and more to provide passive response drug detection dogs for pubs, clubs and rave events to monitor people entering the venue.

The breed of choice for Safeguard Security Drug Detection Dogs is the Springer Spaniel.

Arms & Explosive (AES) Detection Dogs

Despite new and ever more sophisticated technology, nothing is more mobile, versatile, reliable or discriminating than the AES Detection Dog.

These AES dogs are an essential element in the fight against crime.
The bulk of search dogs are drawn from the gun dog breeds.
Safeguard Security prefer to operate with the Springer Spaniel and Labrador breeds.

Specialist search dogs require expert handling and handlers with a police or military background are favoured by Safeguard Security.
